Bath
Roman Bath, BathBased on River Avon, Bath or Bath Spa or Roman Bath is a heritage city situated in England, UK. It is an elegant city famous for its history and Georgian architechture and its Roman remains. It natural hot water springs. It has been attracting visitors since the Ancient times. The first tourists where the Britonss who came to the sacred springs. It is a famous town and one of its renowned resident and visitor was author Jane Austen(1775 to 1817). There is Jane Austen Centre in Bath. Her knowledge of the city is reflected in her novels Northanger Abbey and Persuasion (her other books are Pride and Prejudice (an adaptation of this book is seen in the movie Bride and Prejudice starring Aishwarya Rai, Mansfield Park, Emma etc)), which are largely set in Bath.
She paid two long visits to Bath towards the end of the 18th century and then from 1801 to 1806 made Bath her home. The famous tourist attractions in Bath are

Bath Abbey situated in the heart of Bath was founded in the year 1499. It is an active Parish Church in the Church of England. A close up view of the church you can see Angels ascending and descending from the Jacob's ladder on both west front turrets. The tower soars to 162ft, high above a Roman statue standing over the Great Bath is a masterpiece of Perpendicular Gothic style. The Churchyard is surrounded by beautiful 18th century buildings. Travelling to Bath
There are two stations in Bath namely Bath Spa Station and Oldfield Park Station. Bath is well connected to major cities in UK like London and Bristol. Bristol is just 12 minutes by train. Trains from Bristol to London Paddington go via Bath. I often traverse from Bath to Bristol and Bristol to Bath. Bath is situated just one and half hours by train from London.
This iron statue is from the Victoria Art Gallery. Bath is a famous tourist place. There is a place called Milsom street in the city centre. It has all the important shops. You can always spot an African playing music on the streets. Almost all shops in the Milsom Street close around 6 o' clock in the evening. Almost all houses in Bath have one floor which is under the normal land level. It is hilly and you might find it difficult to walk on the hilly roads for a long time. There is one Indian stores, where you can buy Indian Groceries. There are many Indian restaurants in and around Milsom street. Some of the famous stores are Marks & Spencers, Body Shop etc. You can find all sorts shops and hotels and cafes here. The famous shop is the Discount store and 1 pound shop where almost all the items are sold for 1 pound. Similar to Singapore Stores in India. There is market in the weekends where Olives and other stuff are sold here. One person was selling the smallest kites in the world for £5. Roman bath is situated here and in the entrance of the Bath, you can see some people dressed in the Victorian type and face is either painted in silver color or black and they are given money by the tourists. In Summer, you can see many Hot Air Balloons slowly moving in the sky. Ballooning is a famous adventure activity in Bath. Most of the trips are from Bath to Bristol. I had been to a place where these Balloons start. Wow! It was amazing to look at it. In these Balloons around 8 - 10 people fly. And to set up the balloon and starting it takes around one to one and half hours.
Bath is famous for its parks. Almost all areas in Bath have a green park where you can see children and youngsters playing football. Henrietta park is one of the famous parks.
