There are some genuine marketing websites for whom your opinion does matter.
All you have to do is register with them with your true profile and they will send surveys according to your profile. Complete the survey and you will be paid for taking the survey. Usually the survey takes around 15 minutes to half an hour. But remember you are not called for each and every survey. It depends on your interests you selected. You can make some extra money by taking surveys. They also have some referral scheme that is you are paid when you refer customers to their website.

When you type the words earning from home or earning on the internet in google , you will see many "Sponsored Links" and ordinary links from Google which say you can earn so as much as $1000 part-time or $4000 full-time per day or per month. When you click the link, all you say is success stories of people who earned so much by registering with this site. No information as such is provided in the site. They will just say register with us and we will let you know how to earn money. And you know what, they even claim that you need not have any experience to earn money. But most of these money earning tactics are pyramid scheme ie., you pay money and register for the training kit and inorder for you to get back your money (return on investment) you have to make many others register and this scheme continues. The more people you join, the more is the money you earn. So here you do not actually sell the product but indeed you sell the training kit or sometimes you earn money by making others register. There are also some sites which say you have to register with them and you can earn money by taking surveys. What these people do is make you pay money for registering and when you have registered. They will point to links which are surveys from various sites which are really free. And the real thing about this is that you will not be paid for taking those surveys. Two things the people do are get your emailid and sell it to parties which are interested in sending you spam emails and by making you register with money they make money. So be cautious about these things..

But there are really ways where you can earn money. If you are a web publisher, then you can add Google ads on your site and when people click on your links you are paid a commission by Google. See about Google Adsense below. You can also earn money by placing Google Search on your website and you will be paid according to the number of searches performed from your Google. Google indexes your pages and it is good search facility for your website without you not even writing a single line of code. Just include the script provided by google.
The other ways of earning money on the internet are if you have some scrap at home which you think you do not need you can open an account and sell it on ebay. It can be your old books, T-shirts, watches, any electronic items etc.

Google Adsense is a program run by Google whereby you sign up for an account and you are given some script which you have to post in your webpage. Some facts about Google Adsense.
