ActionScript is the programming language using for programming flash. It is quite similar to javascript. Many sites give free samples and tutorials for using actionscript.
Nowadays many of the sites are using flash. One of the sites that I found interesting is that of J.K Rowling (Author of Harry Potter books). http://www.jkrowling.com. It was displayed in the Netscape site of the day. There you can find biography of JK Rowling. So I started learning ActionScript and will be posting my tutorials soon in this section.
So, the best place for tutorials on the internet is Macromedia.com. It is indeed they who came up with Flash, so who will offer the best tutorials than Macromedia. They are offering the tutorials in the form of zip file which you can download and then start learning flash. I think it must be easy to master Flash programming for people who have programming experience. It is somewhat similar to Javascript. Creative people can do wonders using Flash. With support for Vector and bitmaps it is really a good tool. It is also equipped with built-in tutorials. So that you can install Dreamweaver and then start learning using the tutorials. Macromedia is offering some trial downloads. So feel free to download and try the product.
